Umbrella policies supplement the liability coverage you already have through your home and auto insurance, and provide an extra layer of protection.

Unique features of the Personal Umbrella Policy include:

  • World Wide Coverage
  • Defense Costs are paid by the Company for:
    • Any expenses incurred by the Company
    • Court costs in any suit the Company defends
    • Premium on certain types of bonds
    • Up to $100 per day for loss of earnings while the insured is testifying in court
    • Limits from $1 million to $5 million

Enhancements may be purchased for an additional premium to include overlying coverage for:

  • Watercraft
  • Recreational Motor Vehicles
  • Rental Dwellings
  • Home Business
  • Farm Liability

Policy Credits:
Package Discount – a discount applies to the umbrella line of business when both the personal liability and personal automobile is written with Michigan Insurance Company.

  • Mature Credit
    Receive a discount when a named insured is age 40 or older. This is only available for Group risks.
  • Group Discount
    Members of a qualified group receive a discount.. Ask your agent for a list of available groups.

The umbrella may be added to your existing automobile or homeowner policy.
